Having more banners in your face makes the average surfer irritated more than anything else would be my guess. He doesn't want to have to scroll his browser window to get to that pic below a banner and most of the time it's the same banner that's on the gallery page anyways. And if it isn't then it probably should be. I've never believed much in the scattershot theory of marketing so I tend to think having a gallery made up of actual content from a site converts best. And usually I'll put a banner on the bottom of the gallery that is related to but not actually competing with the main sponsor.

Good point. If you are trying to sell Mountain Dew, you wouldn't put Pepsi cans in your advertisements would you?

Thats called targetting. Its real simple, yet most galleries you see have content from something that has nothing to do with the site.

Worse, the site doesnt target the surfer with the content that got their sexual emotions flowing in the first place. So its all pretty much wasted.

When someone says certain types of traffic dont convert, it just cracks me up when I see their galleries, paysite front pages, and members area. Nothing matches, and then they wonder and think that the traffic was bad. If its a real surfer that clicked to see what you have, its a real surfer who clicked to see what you have. Thats it. Simple.

Free content is good for this industry, how you use it directly reflects your revenue. Prove me wrong!
