That would depend on your sponsors. Sounds kind of underhanded to me. Surfers are easily agitated these days as it is.
I know that most AVS's don't even allow for a lead-in that forces the signup page.
What I mean by that is having a text story that builds up to the steamy bits, then has a link that dumps you to the signup page.
They are getting militant about "blind" links.
