Default Do you ever have this problem?

I am chained to my desk for so many hours a day that sitting normally in my chair can get rather uncomfortable. So, I tend to change my sitting position a lot and try bending my knees and putting a foot up in the chair in various positions. *if that makes sense* The problem is my damned knees are starting to kill me. Anyone have any comfy positions they alternate to while sitting at their desk. I do get up and move around but sometimes i'm in the middle of a critical deal and it could take a couple of hours to hammer it down. Ahhhhh the porn biz is gonna cause me to have bad knees and i'm not even talent.....

sure changing different possies is the best, try also having lots of walking when ever you get the chance to, try to keep your sitting to one hour, then take a quick walk for up to 2 to 10 minutes even if it is to your white board and write down some of your ideas, sometimes the best ideas comes out when you get a few minutes to take a step back to look over your work... if you cant and need to stick it out at your desk for many hours at a time.. try something like moving your legs up and down, like a swimming motion, that helps the blood flow and drink lots and lots of water instead of tea or coffee if you do..

as for your chair, i hope it is a really top of the line one, cause you make alot of money while sitting and doing work so a top of the line chair is a must..

I find that putting a small platform, say, 3-4" thick, the size of a briefcase or larger, helps a lot.

You should *never* have your legs dangling: that puts negative pressure on the knee and draws liquid inside the joint.

Suggestion: start a garden in your backyard and go hoe-out the weeds for ten minutes every two hours. You'll also get a better sun tan than by staying in front of the monitor.

or get a bed for your office and a notebook and then install yourself laying on your belly on the bed and do so your work... that's how I work back home

well, funny enough I have my office in my bedroom. It's the largest room in the house and sometimes I jump up in the middle of the night because i've had an idea and want to check on it right away. I have the wireless keyboard and mouse so sometimes I do lay on the bed. Bad thing is I think i'm just getting old because it makes my back hurt to lay on my stomach like that for too long. lol

I have had various leg/back/neck pains which were all related to how I was sitting. If you are experiencing pain, see your doctor.

Do yoga. It works for Sting & Madonna.
Schedule an appointment with a massage therapist. Get a Swedish massage. You will feel 100 times better. That and change your habits. Get up and walk around the block or up down the steps, and stretch. Drink lots of water.
