I am determined to have a good day today. Lots to do, and my Fountains of Wayne CDs arrived, so I have fun stuff to provide background music. I love witty lyrics.

Good morning, everybody. 'Tis Thursday, which is a day I happen to like. I don't like Wednesdays, because it's the night my husband goes to class and doesn't roll back in until 10:30 PM, and usually in a bad mood, too boot.
He came home with a doozie last night. One of the members of his Learning Team, a woman, looked at her cell phone and found three calls from all three of her brothers. Not a good sign, she said. Oh, my yes indeed, it wasn't a good sign. It seems her father had come home to discover her mother on the floor in a pool of blood. The glass next to the front door had been shattered, she was sliced in many places, and there was a shard of glass *through* her neck. At last update, the hospital was trying to figure out how in the hell to get the glass shard out without killing her.
They're still working on the "what in the absolute hell happened?" part of the equation. They don't know whether she fell or was the victim of a home invasion...or what.
I've been giving my sliding glass door the evil eye ever since.
