Consciousness and mind control / advertising control is a funny thing. Some people are so good at this that they can literally predict what the person is thinking. Is it psyhic ability or is it just careful prediction of how the person reacts? I think something that creates a really powerful emotional reaction is what gets remembered most. Imagine a woman says "I love you" to a man - it will get remembered. Ordinary / every day non-interesting things will be forgotten.
Some people think that the human brain remembers every second of existence, it just a matter of trigerring the memory with something. Of course, every word in the English language will trigger a specific reaction in the brain.
