I think it is.... Canadian Bacon, looks more like ham then bacon, sometimes has cornmeal around the outside ..

Canadian bacon = back bacon = bacon (British)
Canadian bacon tastes like ham and is much leaner than American bacon. It's made from pork loin that's been smoked and cured..  |

and the edge is usually rolled in peameal. The yellow stuff that looks like granulated sugar.
It's known as peameal bacon in the States and quite a few places. Canadians just like to be different.
