My laptop keeps shutting down

I think it might be the fan or the motherboard.
It's running now, but I took the time to backup things because I'm not sure how much longer it's going to be functioning properly.

Of course, it will likely cost a lot more to fix it than to get a new one.
I'm putting all my working files on my external HD now. I don't want to take any chances.

Well I removed the battery completely from the housing. I haven't had a shutdown since then. That might be the issue, however I still think it could have something to do with the fan. It seems to work hard to get going at a speed it needs to go.

I'm still backing everything up though. A new laptop is likely in my near future.
