I started this thread on GFY as well, and I got answers that I expected.

What I think is this.... Starting a new TGP isn't a waste of time, and they can still be profitable. But you have to also measure what your time is worth to you now versus 10 years ago.

I have a few TGPs now and the ones I put effort into do make money. I know they could all be making more. But it's the time needed to maintain them.

When someone outright dismisses creating a TGP as a "waste of time" or "TGP is dead"... I simply don't agree. Any porn site you create will make you money if you know how to attract the traffic, and perhaps more importantly excite that surfer's senses for more and convince them to make a purchase.

Chris I know you a lot better than Shemp so I'll argue with you! lol joke.

Maybe I shouldn't have said tgp is "dead". Obviously it's not dead because tgp's are still out there and tgp still makes some money.

But TGP is most certainly dying and it will die some day. When? Who knows.
It's really hard to jump out of a comfort zone and accept a new business trend. Horse and buggy manufacturers refused to accept that the car industry would evolve too.

Erotic magazine publishers in the 80's either embraced the internet or refused(or were unable) to embrace it. A few of millionaires were made from internet porn while even the once mighty playboy had hindering sales and a few smaller magazines went belly up.

You can make a TGP sure but it's like you say how much time do you want to put into it? I guess if you have it already to go and have money in it already then go for it. But why not make it a different kind of site if you can?

Just my opinion.

That would probably be more like the late 90's early 2000's. I dont recall any advanced internet selling porn in the 80's.

Beyond that. I am building 3 new TGPs right now and have a couple of people who do submissions for me. I believe it is about watching and knowing the market, putting in the time and building it.

Yeah I should have clarified better what I meant there but in my head I was thinking about the magazines that existed in the 80's that I used to look at that didn't exist later on after the internet.
